Ever done more on a project in two hours than three days? Well this is Pareto’s principle; the principle states that ‘80% of the results come from 20% of the effort.’ Essentially there is an unequal relationship between what one puts in and what one gets out. This can be applied to many different situations, however, importantly for us it can be applied to work and productivity: 80% of our work output comes from 20% of our work input. Here’s a couple of tips:
Try: Rethinking your to-do list. Maybe create a separate list of 80% effect jobs and 20% effect jobs?
Try: Plan your work for when you are most effective and rest when you are least effective.
